The Difference
Fresh n' Tasty!
Honest John's Frozen custard is ice cream. There are two key differences between frozen custard and premium ice cream: egg yolks and less air whipped in. Ice cream is made with milk, at least 10% butter fat cream, and sweetener. Frozen custard contains the same ingredients, plus pasteurized egg yolks but with 10% air vs. 20-30% air in premium ice cream (up to 50% air in bargain ice cream). This extra ingredient and less air means that frozen custard has a richer, thicker, and creamier texture than ice cream.
We hope you enjoy your frozen custard!

We are right off the square in Historic Gainesboro across the street from Miss Sallies Market.
We have outside seating, a covered and heated tent and free WiFI.
CONCRETE
Ice cream goodness
A “concrete” refers to thick frozen custard blended at high speeds and mixed with fruits, candy, cookies, or nuts. After the custard and mix-ins are blended together, you can effectively turn the cup over, and the custard won't fall out. That’s why Honest John’s crew will hand you your concrete upside down to demonstrate this gravity-defying delicious treat.
We hope you enjoy your concrete!
